Congressman Brown’s daughter has passed away
Upon reading Laurin’s recent post about Congressman Henry Brown’s absence from the House, a friend of ours did some research and learned that Congressman Brown’s daughter has passed away.
We send our condolences to the Brown family.

Mr. Brown of South Carolina (at the request of Mr. Boehner) for today and January 4 after 3:30 p.m. on account of the death of his daughter.
BROWN, Catherine Catherine Elizabeth Brown, 48, cherished wife of David Champagne, died January 1, 2007, in Charleston after a long illness. Catherine is survived by and will be sadly missed by her family including her husband David, her parents Henry E. Brown, Jr. and Billye Beaver Brown, a brother Jimmy and his wife, Kim, a sister Debra and her husband, Barry and several nieces and nephews who affectionately called her “Aunt Tater.” She was a 1976 graduate of North Charleston High School and received her B.A. and Master’s Degree from the College of Charleston. She was a special education teacher in several local schools and in Brevard County, Florida before retiring. She also loved and cared for many of her canine friends. All services are going to be private. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the John Ancrum SPCA, 3861 Leads Ave., North Charleston, SC 29405 or to the Lupus Foundation of America, Inc., 2000 L Street, N.W.
